let me tell you a story

In today’s world, being overweight can make you an outcast. Being a lesbian can make you an outcast. Being over 60 can make you an outcast. We live in an increasingly hostile and polarized world. Fear, anger, and desperation are driving an explosion in hate groups, violence, and unthinkable tragedies, all of which are occurring on top of increasingly existential threats to our planet. Oftentimes, this life feels more like a circus.

Janie Jones has been around long enough to know that there is no problem too big to solve - as long as we work together and with kindness. She is an ideal built on empathy and acceptance; based on the understanding that we need to be open to other perspectives, so that we may understand them, so that we may work together to find common ground. That’s the only way we’ll heal our society and come back together. And, as more and more of us push to express - and embrace - who we truly are, we’re building the world we know to be possible - a  much more beautiful and accepting world.

In the early 20th century, the circus was an escape from everyday life for society, and a family for society’s outcasts. In the early 21st century, life has become the circus and now we’re all part of the show. Fat Lady Brewing is about celebrating that we’re already part of this big beautiful circus called life. It’s about embracing our inner character, and recognizing that it’s those unique differences that make us special, that give society life, and that empower us with the tools we need to build a stronger community - together.

Welcome to Fat Lady Brewing, where you’re welcome to come as you already are or as you wish to be - so long as you come with kindness and an open mind.
